Back at the 'hoo

Alright first of all, I'm so sorry it's been a week since I've updated this bad boy. I actually have been really busy and I have so much to fill you in on.

So right now I'm sitting at the Yahoo! UK office, nearing the end of my work day. It's been a lot of fun so far - researching and making spreadsheets and pretending that I'm really important. They took me out for lunch on Friday to this gourmet burger barn which was delicious! Everyone is really nice and the team I'm working with are a lot of fun. All in all, I'm pretty happy here and I find out Thursday if I get a job full time - so finger's crossed!

So I stared work on last friday, but before that I got a call back from the MSN recruiter who asked me to come in. So I got up ass early on Friday, took the bus so Borough and wrote a copy writing test. Then the guy tells me they want to offer me the job - essentially doing search marketing and content development for Bing in the UK. It's not really my cup of tea but I was pretty happy that I'd finally been offered a job that wasn't located in the ass end of nowhere at some crack factory. So I told him my situation with Yahoo - that I was waiting on them but would take the job if that didn't work out. So then I went to my first day of work and told my boss what the situation was. I told them I needed to know the status of my job by the end of next week (now this week) so thankfully, I get to know sooner rather than later if I'll be a yahooligan again! Hooray!

So in other news, Dylan didn't call me all week and broke our date on Thursday. After being sort of sad about the situation, I decided not to let this dude get me down (the guy had his birthday tattooed on his arm - is that really someone I want to be spending my time with? The answer is yes because he's really good looking and I'm really shallow).

So by Wednesday I was feeling a little down and Franca graciously offered to take me out for a celebratory dinner to Pizza Express to congratulate me on my new (temporary) job! Anyway dinner was delicious (as was the cheesecake and the two bottles of wine). So we decided to hit up an Irish pub (to celebrate St. Patty's Day) and ran into several friendly, drunken Londoners.

Then we met James and David who we ended up drinking with for the rest of the evening. James kept calling himself McNaulty (the lead detective from The Wire, for those who don't know). Anyway, under normal circumstances I would have assumed this guy was a complete loser but he kept buying me shots of Jameson so I let it go. Anyway we had a great night with them and at the end of the night, I gave him my number. He texted me Saturday and we have a date this Saturday (pending he doesn't pull a Dylan). And then who should I get a text from right after James texts me but good ol' Dylan. He said he was working 15 hour shifts this week and sorry he didn't get in touch and blah blah blah. I texted him back being like you owe me big time but I'm pretty much done with the douchebag. No one stands up Patsy! So I'm not sure what we're doing Saturday but I will let you know how it goes.

Sunday Franca and I got up and had a delicious breakfast at S & M with Jenny. Then we went to the Islington Farmer's Market and got us some groceries. After that, we went grocery shopping and cleaned our house! It was a super productive day which is a rarity for me. I feel like I've been more productive these past two months than I've been in the last year of my life!

I'm worried this blog is going to get uber boring now that I'm working (and not attending hilarious interviews where I have to pretend I'm really into foxes that play bingo). But I will make sure to do lots and see lots and take lots and lots of pictures (I've been kind of shitty about that lately).

Anyway I hope you are all well and sorry again this post took so long. I love and miss you all!

Cheers,

Patsy
